what licence would i need for one of these..

Quote
A 3M-LONG air-to-air missile has been found inside a house in the north-eastern suburbs.

Police said the heat-seeking Sidewinder missile the same type used by RAAF F/A-18 Hornet jet fighters was disarmed and safe when they found it among a cache of weapons last week.

The Sidewinder missiles are supersonic, heat-seeking missiles and are fired from fighter jets.

The smart weapons are equipped with an explosive warhead and infrared guidance system which locks on to heat signals from enemy aircraft. Sidewinders are 3.2m long and weigh about 85kg.

A man, 51, has been charged with a range of offences including possessing dangerous articles, unlawful possession and unregistered and insecure firearms.

Police have launched an investigation into how the missile came to be in Modbury North but would not provide any further details.

The Department of Defence declined to comment on the missle discovery, but said it had been advised by police that the incomplete and expended missile, and other inactive weapons, were recovered during the search.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

I wonder what his political/religious affiliation is?

If he were a Tea Party member we'd likely know his name, where he was born, what he had for breakfast and who he voted for in 2008.  What they are not telling us is more informative than what they should tell us.

There is also the security breach(maybe its not, but I doubt it) that they have to investagate.  Thats not some thing you can just find laying around.

I'm confused, did they find a "real" Sidewinder, or the shell of a "incomplete and expended missile"?

Sounds so ominous until that last sentence.

Will work for ammo

Probably a training round that landed intact.

I will neither confirm or deny the exhistance of a desk lamp made from a Mk76 training bomb....

I don't have it anymore.  We had it on the boat and it disappeared after cruise. >:(
