I can't even begin to understand this line of "thought."http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9516776/Farm-tenant-arrested-after-burglars-shot-was-plagued-by-break-ins.htmlFarm tenant arrested after burglars shot was 'plagued by break-ins'The man is believed to have grabbed a legally owned gun after they were disturbed by the break-in early yesterday. He is understood to have fired at the intruders who then fled the isolated house at Melton Mowbray, Leics, before calling the police.Yesterday the businessman and his wife were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. Four men, understood to be the suspected burglars, were also arrested....In 2009, the millionaire businessman Munir Hussain fought back with a metal pole and a cricket bat against a knife-wielding burglar who tied up his family at their home in Buckinghamshire. Hussain was jailed for two and a half years, despite his attacker being spared prison.WTF is wrong with these people?
I was looking to verify the Munir Hussain story when I found this on Wikipedia. It has enough detail that I'll take it as true. There were 3 robbers and the family was tied up. One managed to free themselves and the resistance began. From the entry:Awais Hussain[6]: These men were wearing balaclavas and holding 12in knives to our necks. They punched me and my father repeatedly in the head and face and pushed us all to the floor. My father tried to reason with them, saying, "Take everything we have - just don't hurt us". But the men were sneering and shouting, "We're gonna f*****g kill you". My sister and mother were crying hysterically. We all thought we were going to die.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munir_Hussain_and_victims%27_rightsIt looks like a bad guy wasn't treated with kid gloves after the tables were turned.
Sometimes I consider the phrase Live Free or Die. When I do I consider not being free as being a slave..like the plantations of the early US.And some times I question whether dieing is a price to high to pay to avoid that type of slavery. When I read the two stories of this thread, I find my answer. I would die fighting a society where I was not free to defend myself and others....let alone to not live in chains.
I was going to ask why the "Crown" is so contrary to people defending themselves but realized I don't care because the people, while subjects, still elect their representatives. So this is the government they deserve.
