Here is a video of the citizen (Vic Stacy) that helped the cop during that RV park shooting incident a while back.

not a bad shot either 165yrds with a 357 under pressure and then under fire

Was it a rifle or a pistol? Hell, I couldn't hit a house at 165 yards with a non scoped handgun. I'd have been more effective just insulting the guy to distract him. Good shootin' Tex! ;D

The story said a .357 magnum pistol at as much as 150 yds.  And he hit the bad guy 4 times.  Very good shooting.

The article also said the bad guy had an Assault Rifle, but who knows what a reporter might consider that to be.

A quote from Stacy makes me question that.

"I saw him turn the gun around toward my direction and I saw him throw another one in the chamber and he took another shot at me. And that’s when I put three more in him," said Stacy

It's the   throw another one in the chamber   I wonder about....sounds more like a bolt action, though it might be releasing the bolt after a mag reload.

I'd say either bolt or lever.
Going by media claims it was an "assault weapon" it might have been a single shot.

Personally I think the guy ought to apply for the position of fire arms instructor for the NYPD. ;D
FQ13 Who could learn a thing or two from him as well. 4 hits at 165 yards with a pistol when someone was shooting back at you? That's hard core.

An honest, simple, and courageous man... that would be disarmed by Schumer, Feinstein, and other Washington vermin.

I pray that Mr. Stacy never loses a single night of sleep over his heroic actions.

I find the 165 yard shots on target a rather incredulous claim.

None the less, the man is a certified hero.

Crazy guy had a 30-30.  I'm guessing it was a lever gun.

Not really...... IHMSA shooters do it regularly.
I used to shoot metallic silhouette matches with .22lr, .357mag, and .44mag .......at ranges of 25 yards to 200 yards (depending on caliber).......and those long range rams are much smaller than a man.

The story said    "up to 150ft.".   My guess is that it was 150 from his front door to the bad guys tree and Stacy was closing the distance as he shot so they don't really know from where he was making his 4 shots.

Actually, if he was closing while the bad guy was taking shots at him only speaks more for  his courage.

I respect his actions and hope I'd give as good an accounting of myself should I find myself in a similar situation.
