A Corrupt LEO Story That Doesn't involve Florida!
« on: September 27, 2012, 03:07:26 PM »
Here's one I love. It turns out that due to corruption charges, a small New Mexico town's only current certified and state approved police officer is their drug sniffing dog. Gotta love it. ;D

You must be so proud !  ;D
Actually it's Jersey for corruption, Fla for just stupid sh!t like pulling a gun on some one because the saw you having sex at 70 mph.
Or getting arrested for being drunk on horse back in the middle of town.
Or putting your 4 ft pet alligator in the Kiddie pool during swim classes.
Or getting arrested for shaving your crotch while driving.
Or, well, I think my point is made.  ;D

Can't leave out Zombie guy !

Heck, FQ... the Peach State is catching up with the 'corrupt cop' trend...... Everywhere you turn lately....... Three police chiefs in neighboring towns spent time in the hoosegow recently, and await trials. One for beating a prisoner, one for selling marijuana, and one for selling prescription meds (caught just last week).
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

State officials said Armijo couldn't carry a gun since acknowledging that he owed tens of thousands of dollars in delinquent child support payments in Texas. Armijo also faces new felony charges after being accused of selling a town-owned rifle and pocketing the cash.

That is not true, with the exception of spouse abuse misdemeanors, debt, and civil offenses are not legal grounds for suspending an individuals gun rights.
Since he has not been convicted of the later felony charge that also does not involve violence there was currently no justification for denying his right to carry a gun.
However, he could be suspended from the PD pending the out come of the case.

"England doesn't allow police officers to carry guns," he said."Sometime the strongest weapon in law enforcement is communication."[/i]

HA HA Ha ha ha.....  ::)

I take it he was voted in.  They, the town, get what they deserve if that is the case.  If not and he was hired by the city council, they still voted those people in and hence...they get what they voted for.

I think its time men step up and start taking responsibility for their lives, I know women can be evil (I'm sure someone will fix that for me  ;)) but that does not excuse bad behavior on our part.  As for selling public property and pocketing the cash, he ought to be flogged, total violation of the trust he was given.

He who dares wins.  SAS

What if he put the cash toward the back child support ?
We got one up here, apparently good local guy running for state senate, about once a month the guy he beat in the primary puts out another story from the candidates ex wife making all kinds of terrible accusations against him.
The first time the State AG investigated and found no wrong doing and no verification they have ignored these 2 a holes since.

Thank goodness I'm not an attorney, but I believe that Armijo's loss of the right to possess a gun is supported by both Federal and Texas law.

Title 18 USC Section 922 (g)(1) and (g)(2) read as follows:
Quote
(g) It shall be unlawful for any person—
     (1) who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
     (2) who is a fugitive from justice;
              ...
to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce, or possess in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.

And from http://www.fathers4kids.com/html/ChildSupport.htm?article_id=78:
Quote
In some cases, the law allows you to be imprisoned for a specific amount of time and/or pay a fine. This happens when you are criminally prosecuted and imprisoned for nonpayment, which is a felony. As of September 1, 1999, a felony conviction is sufficient to deport someone who is not a citizen of the United States.

And from http://www.mytexasdefenselawyer.com/texas-criminal-laws-penalties/:
Quote
Felony                Penalty
Capital                Death or life in prison without parole
First-degree        5 to 99 years in a state prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000
Second-degree    2 to 20 years in a state prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000
Third-degree       2 to 10 years in a state prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000
State jail             180 days to 2 years in a state jail and/or a fine of not more than $10,000

Armijo's failure to comply with a court order to pay child support may have resulted in felony charges rising to a level sufficient to satisfy the Federal prohibition.

Then again, I may just be full of crap.   ;D

Either way, the guy wasn't late on two payments with a harpy for an ex. If he was tens of thousands behind and had a steady job he was a dead beat, and sure shouldn't be the police chief of anywhere. As for, my voice is the most dangerous weapon? ;D

You do not know what you are talking about FQ.
I don't say that to be insulting (this time ) I'm simply stating a fact.
From the time the Ca court issued their Child support order against me, until the new husband adopted the kids  I worked for half pay for 4 years, at the end of that time I was over $45,000 behind .
