Handgun: Colt CQBP (Close Quarter Battle Pistol).  Colt is back with this bad-ass 1911.  If it's good enough for our Marines to select it, it's good enough for me.

Rifle: At first, it was a toss-up between the Ruger 10/22 Takedown and T/C Dimension for their technical innovation.  But in the end, I'm going with the Savage Lady Hunter just because it's marketing innovation.  It's a rifle that's not catering to an untapped market.  It's building one from the ground up.  Kudos to Savage for that.

Shotgun: It's too easy to pick the Mossberg Flex system, so I'm going with the Chiappa 1887 T-Model.  No other reason but it's über-cool, as Arnold would say.  Sometimes you just need some fun over function.

AR Platform: The "boring" S&W M&P 15 Sport.  Only because it's a ton of gun for the money, and it's getting more people into ARs than anything else.  That's a good thing.  I know it was introduced in late 2011, not 2012.  Big deal.

I mentioned it in another thread but I'll say it here as well.

Gun of the year = Ruger 10-22 takedown.

Close behind the M&P  Shield and the Sig 938. Two super cool carry guns for the concealed demands.

I agree with the Keltec KSG but isn't it actually from 2010 or 2011?  Might as well be new considering how hard they are to find in stock. Been on my short must have list for a while but when I do see one available I've spent the discretionary cash on other guns or more ammo.
"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Ok second try   ;D

Pistol:  Colt Mustang 380  - A classic reborn
Rifle:  Ruger 10/22 Takedown - More buzz on this than a bee hive
Shotgun:  Stoeger Double Defense over/under - Great for home defense and making skeet snobs weep in their Sherry
AR Platform:  300 Blackout system from Daniel Defense

As did I as a child until my brother and I used it to defend the living room and blew a milk bottle out of my sisters hand!  Dad had it in the trash pile shortly after...

IMHO;

Pistol:  M&P Shield. If you can find one I hear they are great.
Shotgun: Mossberg Flex. Love the concept even if I'm an 870 fan.
Rifle: 10/22 Take-down. Really think that is a great one.
AR: Unsure on that one.
