Under the first rule of self defense, Avoidance, why would any one subject themselves to the situation in this article and video I stole from Chris Fry's facebook:

This is the level that our nation is sinking to.  People are willing to risk their lives for a high priced piece of electronic crap that makes them feel important and powerful.  I detest the label "Black Friday" for the day after Thanksgiving, but after viewing this and talking to people that I once thought were level headed I have accepted the term.  I accept it because it shows how dumb we as a society have become, and how far we have strayed from the events we are remembering in this 34 day period that started this past Thursday.

Even if you choose to ignore the significance of these days, please pay attention to your surroundings, and protect yourself!
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Ignorant folks don't realize they're being played!

Do what I do, wait until January if you need something!  I didn't leave the house yesterday other than to go to the liquor store!  No lines there...

      I didn't see guns on your list. Did you omit those on purpose? Or do those fall under "toys"?

Heck, my wife went out into the mess with her sisters..... but I must admit she completed most of her Christmas shopping in one fell swoop for about half the cost...... so my wallet ain't complaining.....too much.

I, being on crutches since Thursday, stayed home....... but I still ordered a new TV for the bedroom (old one been on the blink for over a month) and a surround sound for our son. Got them both from Amazon for about 60% savings and free shipping.

I can't figure out why either.

Only hunch I have is that folks so inclined want to be sure no one else gets more 'free' or cheap stuff than they do.

"Black Monday" is tommorow. Its when web busineses' offer Black Friday sales. Not only do you not have to fight the masses, you don't even have to get dressed. ;D

I dont think I have ever gone Christmas shopping on Black Friday. For me, if its not done before September 1 (dove season) it aint happenen until the seven day countdown.  As a kid in Wisconsin, it was always deer season that week, shopping was limited to running into the Holiday Station Store while you filled with gas and picking up batteries for your heated socks. As a young adult with my own kids it was a great time to take them up to the sledding slopes.  Now as an old guy with a decreasing respect for the make up of the general populace, and a hieghtened sense of self preservation, there is no way I'm going out into that fray.
It just seems like with all kinds of hunting seasons going on, family around, snow needing to be played in, theres just to much to do to take time to go shopping.  :D
