“Handguns do not enhance our safety,” Whitlock wrote. “They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it.”

Talk about revisionist history.

It was the NRA who had a program to help blacks get guns to protect themselves from the KKK.

After 4 years of being called a racist for opposing the final socialist moves of the democrats why is any one surprised by this ?
NRA members generally vote Republican so they must be members of a group founded by democrats to oppose republican policies.
