Is it any wonder ...
« on: December 31, 2012, 10:36:09 AM »
I keep expecting an open and honest debate on violence, I keep expecting our people to work to better themselves, and I keep waiting for our elected officials to find their spines.  I beat my head on the desk with some of the stupid stuff we do as electorate, the lack of conviction by many charged with leading the nation on our behalf, and the lack of understanding by anybody. Today I was slapped up side the head with reality, and all I can say is this is the reason sows eat their young.

I fully admit to being out of touch with what most of our nation believes is the most important thing in life.  I may joke about Dancing With The Stars and American Idol, but I never realized what a hold this crap has on our nation.  Between the news on the TV this morning, radio headlines, and looking over several newspapers between projects there are three consistent stories:  1.  The "fiscal cliff" is all about the evil rich and going to bankrupt the average American family; 2.  The evil "assault gun" is the only cause of deaths in our nation today, and if we ban it all will be rosie; and 3.  Kim Kardashian is the most important person in the world.

Here is where you find out how out of touch I am with reality:  I have heard her name for a long time, but didn't have a clue who she was or why she was so important to take up so much media time.  With word of her pregnancy, with a boyfriend while she is still married to someone else, I did some research to learn a little about who she is and why I need to know about her.  Anybody that thinks this person is worthy of any news coverage, much less the amount she gets, does not have the intelligence required to make an informed vote for leadership in our nation.

I'm sorry folks, but if this is the culture we are fighting to preserve I will volunteer to be the bullet sponge when we take our fight for our Rights to the street, because I do not want to live in a society that idolizes organisms like Kim Kardashian!
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

M58,

I agree wholeheartedly.  We have fallen as a society, and it seems like the movie "Idiocracy" is being used as a roadmap instead of a warning.  I believe all is not lost, though.  The Tea Party is still alive and well, despite what the media may tell us.  The NRA is growing.  It's an uphill climb, but I think we can fix this.  It will take a ton of patience and persuasion, but it can be done.

As for those soulless vultures in the Beltway, every person we can wake up is a vote against them.  It took decades to get to this point, and it will take just as long to get back.  But we can do it.

If all else fails, the entirety of the drtv forum members move to Texas when it secedes! ;)

The fact that someone has allowed Kanye West to breed is in and of itself rather worrisome...

Even Babwa Walters told Kimmy that she was a talentless hack who's fame consisted of a few porn films with supposed boyfriends!  My guess is her pathetic excuse of a mother orchestrated the whole thing!

Actually it's a step up in the shameless Hollywood bimbo world. Carmen Electra married Dennis Rodman. But to be accurate, no, she didn't breed with him. Not for the lack of trying however.

Just how far can we fall living under the Ideocracy voted back in last November? I know the Military vote was disallowed while people who are institutionalized as too feeble to live an independent life voted in mass. Voting machines switched the selection from Romney to BO in many instances and people without ID cast votes multiple times. Some precincts show that not one joker or malcontent voted republican and we are to believe that this wasn't the most dishonest and corrupt election this country ever had. To show just how screwed we are the Republican Royalty let it slide and look for the next moderate to lose in 2016.

20,000 gun laws and only the ones that persecute honest people are enforced, what happened to "use a gun, go to jail"? Now the discussion is how much to disarm the honest citizens to feed a knee jerk emotional reaction to evil. Evil that the media helped create, just about the whole world knows the name of this twisted little monster as well as the sickos that came before him.

Probably to biggest mistake the Founding Fathers made was not requiring term limits for all elected jobs, they had too much faith in power hungry little men! One or two terms and back to the private sector where the rest of us live.

Mort,

"use a gun, go to jail"? Sickos have found a way around that by committing suicide after they do their dastardly deed. And THAT is a problem for us gun owners in that there is no closure for the people via trial and hanging! So, they take it out on us instead. We are their closure.

You are right that the founding fathers didn't make term limits a priority. They incorrectly assumed that making SCOTUS a life appointment, checks and balances between the three parts of government and a savvy electorate would prevent abuse. Well, history has proven them wrong in that regard. FDR caused us to limit the presidency to two full terms; BHO should cause us to limit it to ONE! But no way would that amendment be ratified, if even approved by our Congress, which couldn't find its ass if theirs heads were screwed on backwards and had a rail with a surelight attached to their fat ankles.
