Brought this up with the wife last night after everyone else went to bed.  She's all for shooting through the door    I tried, in vain I'm afraid, to convince her otherwise and I even used Massad Ayoob's name.  So did I use Mas' name in vain? 

Anyway she is going to research it and I hope this sends her down the RKBA hole and adopts my worldview.

At least she is open to the firearm as a tool of self defense.  Now all you need to do is mold her properly.  There is a series of steps people who are positive with guns go through very similar to the four awareness stages (unconscious unaware, conscious unaware, conscious aware and finally unconscious aware).  As people evolve in the firearms world they are ignorant and appalled, ignorant, ignorant curious, ignorant accepting, ignorant know-it-all, educated know-it-all, educated, learning.

Sadly, on both sides of the evolutionary ladder people can be very obnoxious.

Someone should contact all 50 Attorneys General and ask them if "The Vice President told me to do it" would be a sufficient defense to be acquitted after shooting a shotgun through a door and killing the wrong person.

I believe the awareness levels are from Mas, but I created the learning curve based on experience.

I did use that example but she deflected by saying she heard he may have had other motivations.

I'm surprised that this idiot is not recommending a pump shotgun, because we all know that just racking the action will scare even the worst of the worst away.

He isn't recommending a pump for the simple reason that pump shotguns are next on the list to be vilified. He can't be heard recommending something that he will be against next time.
