All over the print and electronic news today are the results of law enforcement searches of the Newtown murderer's(I refuse to use the guy's name)home. Among the items found were a "NRA certificate" and some other NRA associated training manuals that allegedly belonged to the murderer. The media reports led with the so-called "NRA connection" along with the usual media shrieking of a "22 rifle which contained "LIVE AMMUNITION" found in the murderer's room and of course the 30-round AR magazines hysteria.
Wayne LaPierre's response: The NRA released a statement in response to the findings denying that either <edit>Murderer<edit> or his mother Nancy were members: “There is no record of a member relationship between Newtown killer <edit>name deleted>, nor between Nancy <edit>name deleted>, A. <edit>name deleted> or N. <edit>name deleted> with the National Rifle Association. Reporting to the contrary is reckless, false and defamatory.” Individuals who enroll in an NRA Basic Pistol Training are not required to be NRA members in all cases.
Reporting that is "reckless, false, and defamatory." That is the media today and, along with Barack Obama and the Democrat Party, they have law-abiding firearm owners and the Second Amendment lined-up in their sights so to speak. Scoundrels without a shred of personal honor using the First Amendment(a freedom which was of course obtained/maintained by men and women who were/are no strangers to firearms)to destroy the Second.
Thank God, and the wisdom of the Founders, for the Second Amendment. And thank God for the NRA and its membership. For as Benjamin Franklin said: ""We must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."
P.S.
I am a new member to this forum which I found through the excellent TV shows on the Outdoor Channel. Michael Bane is a terrific ambassador for the firearms industry and firearms enthusiasts everywhere. Good job!
