My new arrival from Steve's Gunz
« on: April 20, 2013, 08:47:13 PM »
After a 14 month wait, Steve Young, the lever action guru gunsmith down in Texas finally finished my Rossi 92.  He started with a stock .357 Rossi 92 in stainless steel and worked his action job magic on it.  Then he bead blasted the stainless steel for a more worn, antiqued finish and made several other changes, including replacing the safety with his peep sight.

Tuesday, I break it in!

That's really slick!  I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Nice BB! Did he do anything to the stock?

Nope.  The stock is stock.  I didn't want to fancy it up because this is going to be a reliable working gun, not a safe queen.  I expect to get this scratched and dinged hauling it through brush and other nasty stuff.  I figure it'll just give it more character.

I am shopping for a simple 1" leather sling for it and so far narrowed it down to a Levy's Leathers oil-tanned 1" sling...

But I'd rather have a screwed loop adjustment rather than a buckle adjustment.  Can anyone else recommend a good basic sling maker?

Maybe someone in the Leatherwork thread can help you out.
