Christi Signs Some New Gun Legislation
« on: August 09, 2013, 01:07:48 PM »
Just saw the news that Christi has signed 10 new gun laws into law. It's bad but not as bad as it sounds because, according to NJ pro gun groups, 2 laws we were FOR, 2 laws we were against, and 6 we were neutral on. For instance, one puts gun owner information off limits for freedom of information searches.  One bad one is if you are on the Terrorist Watch List you can't buy a gun in NJ. That's not a bad thing but the watch list is.  It's secret and there is no recourse for getting your name OFF of it.

The three really bad laws are still on his desk, and that might be a good sign. One is Sweeney's "kitchen sink" bill that has just a ton of nasty crap in it. Second is a ban on 50 cal rifles (like any of us can afford them), and I'm not sure about the 3rd bill.  We're still hoping he's going to go with HIS best interest, which I think he thinks is to try to appease both sides, so he may veto the other bills.
We'll see. I can't believe the GOP is looking at him for POTUS.

Hi;

     NJ better watch their step on the 50 cal ban....Kalifonia did that some years ago and Ronny Barrett refused to sell KA Cops any of his weapons    AND   repair/honor any  preban weapons.

     Also, when the idiots in KA found out they just banned flintlocks because they were 50 cal - things were changed...

"Its a whale! A great white whale"! Screw Christie. If he gets the nomination I am going fishing on election day.
Though I guess that's a bit it unfair. I can see him being concerned about .50 calibers as they're probably the only thing that could put him down. ;D

He HAS had lap band surgery you know....being a struggling fatty myself I am lenient with him on that issue, but you're right. He certainly is "Big Game".  Might take two rounds.

Didn't work out. Good year figured out that Christie won't fly. Lets hope the GOP does the same. ;D

With the .50 ban still on his desk I think our emotions are wasted right now.  That said, if you ever see a .50 ban come to debate keep in mind that it is not just a single firearm they are after.  The most popular muzzleloaders and shotguns are .50 and larger.
