Alf,

Is rain the only weather you get?  It was raining when we went through on the way down Monday and raining when we came back on Wednesday.

A little quirk few notice is that the annual rainfall in Atlanta (~50") is greater than that of Seattle (~40").

We are stuck in some kind of holding pattern that has us with rain for about 10 days straight.

Occasionally it freezes which makes for interesting living.

Will work for ammo

The "Interesting Flights" thing..
We ran out of gas, circling Atlanta for 5 hours one time. When it was time to leave for Spartanburg, or crash, they finally let us come in on an emergency runway.
The first time I landed in Kansas, (and each time thereafter) I could see the end of the runway when we touched down. That was a "unique" experience..
The last flight I was on was Toronto to Maine. It was a Turboprop with seating for about 16, with a bathroom with no door and no room to stand, and NO HEAT.
It was December. NO heat... Did I mention there was NO HEAT in the plane??? (And they lost my luggage..) There wasn't even any heat in the (terminal?) that we had to wait for several hours while the plane was being fixed.. Likely the most miserable flight I've experienced..
With friends like these, who needs hallucinations!..

The 737's mps-Atlanta and back were new and had monitors in the seat backs.  I'm too cheap to by a movie, and too cheap to by headphones, heaven forbid I'd stand up and get my ear buds out of the computer bag, but they did have flight tracker.  It is like watching your Garmin map, and it gave flight information.  30,000 feet +/-, 500 mph +/-, 157 +/- headwind (on the way home), and pretty consistent -58 F.  It is amazing how little the items fluctuate.  The really interesting thing was to listen to the engines whine, and as the pitch went up and down the ground speed would fluctuate a little, but the wind speeds and directions would be jumping all over the place.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.
