Fired up the tractor this evening to move some snow during the heat wave. Now here is something I need to remember every winter and that most people don't talk about: We all think about gelling fuel, but when was the last time you heard complaints about hydraulics? Plugged the tractor in at 6:00am, and it popped right off at 6:30pm. However, had to run it for half an hour before the hydraulics would operate, and it took another half hour of use before it operated smoothly.
How long does it take to warm up ten gallons of hydraulic fluid encased in a ton of cast iron?
Don't know, but if you call me next July I'll tell you if it has happened yet.
