Due to my younger son having Christmas Day shift at the fire department, we just had our family Christmas supper tonight...... and just finished the clean-up.....everyone is gone home and the wife and I are in "wind-down-and-chill" mode.
I'm with Ellis on the granddaughter thing.....
In my case, when the four-year old granddaughter would rather sit in PaPa's lap and watch John Wayne movies instead of play with her dolls, it makes Christmas even better.
Had the usual southern 'country-style' vittles..... and my wife tried a new dessert recipe I found on a cooking show on RFD network and have been patiently waiting on her to try (it was worth the wait and is my new favorite dessert....for now
.... when I can, I'll type it up and post it in the recipe thread).
Good reports from recent medical tests, for both the older son (cancer this year) and the wife (cancer a few years back), made for a great holiday season.
