I spent all day yesterday at a gun show, recruiting students for future classes as well as recruiting members for the NRA. Had a great day, and made a swap that I think I'm going to be happy with.
Since my Springfield Armory XDs 45 came back from recall I've been less than pleased with it. The trigger pull isn't NEARLY as smooth as it was before, and the perceived recoil was markedly increased. While at the show I traded it for a NIB American Tactical Titan 1911 with a 3" barrel, in .45acp. (Yeah, I likes my ,45's, and I LOVES my 1911's).
Here's what the new acquisition looks like.......................................

To put size into perspective, here it is next to it's big brother, my full-size 1911......................

So I took it to the range this afternoon, and right out of the box came up with this grouping at 25 yards.................

It should be noted that the hole in the 7 o'clock position was the 2nd round fired. I dropped it badly after the empty from the 1st round bounced off my forehead.

And while that target won't win me any IDPA trophies, it reminds me of something my daddy used to say, "It's dead, whatever it was."
