except smooth bore shotguns one shot per barrel, everything is registered. Any firearm using a round that is/was used by an armed force somewhere on Earth is classified war material and needs a prior authorisation to be detained. to get this authorisation, one needs to be a registered shooter. A shooter can detain up to 12 restricted firearms, "military" calibers and / or hanguns, 7 being centerfire on a total of 12 . No automatic weapon allowed, semi automatic are restricted after two major changes in firearms laws in 1993 and 1998.
Before these dates, anybody could enter a gunshop, get his money and ID out and buy any semi auto version of military type weapons in "civilian calibers ie AR15, FA MAS, Beretta, Valmet,Galil Mini 14 in .222 Remington, M1A, FAL, Garand etc in 7.08 Rem, 270 Win.
