Been saying for awhile now that Islam needs to police itself if it wants Islam to be saved.  As we have discussed, that would entail it's ceasing to be a theocracy.  I don't think that will happen any time soon.  O'Reilly has some numbers that pretty much show there is little interest in that among Muslims.


O'Reilly cited a study published by the Pew Research Center last year that asked Muslims if they favor Sharia law. The results were eye-opening: Afghanistan 99%, Pakistan 84%, Iraq 91%, Egypt 74% and Jordan 71%.

Islam DOES police itself. They have special cops in Saudi Arabia who pull women out of cars and beat them for driving.
Of course Muslims support Sharia law, you might as well ask Christians if they approve of the 10 commandments.
The Muslims who DON'T cut your head off are bad Muslims, like Christians who skip church.

Further, it is impossible to reform a religion that has among its basic tenets the imperative of conversion by the sword--beheading the infidels. 

The more "moderate" mooslums may actually forgo this imperative in favor of holding infidels as slaves.  "Liberal" mooslums may take it so far as allowing infidels to live and work, as long as they pay an onerous tax.  All the while this slavery and beheading are going on, faithful mooslums are encouraged to take the wives of infidels as spoils of war and use them for their sexual gratification--unless they are ugly and are used for actual slavery.

And, to add to what Tom has already pointed out, mohammedanism is not simply a religion, but rather is a complete governmental structure.  The only acceptable structure for this government is a caliphate, or spiritual leadership.  The only rule of law is sharia.  Neither of these bits can be voted out since no voting is allowed.  "By the people and for the people" is completely alien to mooslums and there is not a single provision for that concept in the quran.

Finally, as one must do when dealing with a rabid dog, there is no solution short of elimination.  With a rabid dog, it makes no difference that the dog was a great companion and protected your family.  It is still rabid and cannot be allowed to infect/kill others.

And, lest there be any misunderstanding, we are all infidels, subject to the beheading/tax/rape rules set forth in the quran.

Stay armed.  Stay vigilant.  It is your duty to protect your fellow infidels.

Another thing most people don't understand is that "Islam" does not evolve.
For example, the Catholic church continues to evolve under each generation of Popes, there were a bunch of big changes in 1968 such as preaching mass in the local language instead of strictly in Latin.
That process in Islam stopped around the 13th or 14th century, and even though other groups out number Arabs by a huge amount the Koran is still quoted in classical Arabic. This is why you get such archaic ideas as beheading and slavery. Not only is Islam a theocratic Dictatorship, it is a medieval one analogous to feudalism, and the "Divine Right of Kings".

"Muslims " never used stone or bronze, they did not come along till long after the beginning of the Iron age.
The Arabs who gave us our numbers, and Al Ghebra (for which they deserve a special hell ) and several medical concepts ,had never heard of "Islam", they were Pagans.
Islam has never promoted learning, at best it was tolerated as a necessary evil , for the last 6 or 700 years it has been stifled.

All Christian faiths have evolved, not just the Roman Catholics.

One of the greatest historical and doctrinal changes was actually termed "The Reformation,"  and was initiated by Martin Luther in 1517.  This gave birth to the Lutheran denomination, and shortly thereafter to the various Calvinist denominations--specifically the Baptists.  This was followed by numerous additional mini-reformations led by folks like John Knox (Presbyterians), John Wesley (Methodists), Menno Simons (Mennonites), and countless others.  The Mennonites themselves were an outgrowth of the Peaceful Anabaptist denomination which grew out of the John Calvin tradition.

Even in our recent history, several denominations have emerged, each with a desire to be more faithful to their interpretation of the Scripture, or to grant themselves some leniency for a particular ideology.  Mary Baker Patterson Glover Eddie gave us Christian Science.  Joseph Smith founded the Mormons. Numerous "second blessing" or pentecostal churches have emerged over the years.

And, though many of these denominations demand a strict adherence to their specific rules, and though many of these denominations require witnessing to the unsaved, none of the groups commonly accepted as Christian allow or encourage beheading those who do not agree with them. 

Not since the Inquisition have we seen Christian denominations make war against non-believers.  And never throughout Christendom have we seen the acceptance of rape and slavery as a scripturally sanctioned behavior over a conquered people.  I know, we fought a war over the slavery question, and some sought to justify slavery by using scripture, but that was a relatively short period of time, and we "reformed" our way out of that quagmire.

As Tom noted, Christianity has steadily evolved since the 13th or 14th century.  Islam is incapable of similar evolution since the very act of questioning that which is in the quran requires that the questioner be put to death as an infidel.
