To answer all the questions, mine is black with the stainless slide. Nice looking. and yes, I fired it before the recall, and that's why I'm so anxious to take it back to the range. AND why I didn't get to do it last night. Oh, and yes, they sent me a magazine AND a hat.

Prior to the recall I liked the pistol, but the trigger had a pretty long pull. It was a little gritty at first but that went away, but the trigger pull was long and the break wasn't too clean, in my opinion. The other strange thing (which we all talked about before) was that every other round my wife fired it would stovepipe. It didn't happen to me, and we couldn't figure out why it only happened to her. She changed grip, etc.

Dry firing it, the trigger travel is much less and it seems to break a lot cleaner so it could be good. The angle of the trigger is more forward than a Glock and the middle section sticks out a little further. What that means is when you put your finger tip on the trigger, the end of the center piece of the trigger is poking almost straight into your finger tip. I'm not sure that's going to fly for me.

So...the wife couldn't get out of a committment last night, so I waited to go to the range- looks like saturday morning now. I just am REALLY curious whether she still has the same problem because I like to rotate pistols for the house gun, and if it's going to screw up, it's outta here.

I WILL report, and hopefully photograph.

Range Report.
So I finally got to pack up my SR9 and head out to the range. I also packed up my wife and one of her .357s to keep her happy, and off we went.
First things first...the 10 round mags I am forced to use in NJ CANNOT be loaded without the magazine loader. They are that stiff. But, we shall persevere.

We put 170 rounds through the retrofitted SR9. Accuracy was shaky at first, because I believe the trigger change takes some getting used to. Eventually I got it sighted in and found it to be a reasonably accurate gun. At 12-15 yards I was chasing clays and parts of clays all over the berm.

First photo shows my grip. I don't have huge hands, but this is not a beefy pistol. You'll notice the angle of the trigger.

The second photo is same, but closeup. It's pretty hard to get your finger to the trigger without getting poked in the middle of your finger pad with the tip of the middle trigger.

However, the trigger travels less distance than the previous trigger and seems much tighter with no grit and it's been awhile since I fired it but I think the trigger recovers quicker as well. I'm guessing the pull to be about 5 pounds.

Muzzle flip isn't bad, although I had more trouble staying on target side-to-side. The trigger is wider and strange to me, and I think that I had adjusted to some of that by the time we were done.

Past history, my wife would get a stovepipe every other shot. So she stepped up and fired off about 30 rounds with no problem. In the middle of the next mag she had one stovepipe. Racking the slide ejected the offending casing and the next loose cartrige, and she finished that mag and another again without incident. MUCH MUCH MUCHO MUCHO better. For you nudges, here's a photo of the stovepipe.

My wife loves the gun now that it doesn't misfire all the time, saying it's her favorite autoloader of mine (she's a revolver girl or as I like to say, "A spinner".  ;D I didn't say that...did I?)

So overall, the pistol is much improved in the way it cycles and in the operation of the trigger...especially if you are accustomed to the two piece trigger. Me myself is going to take awhile to get used to it, but as much as I was bitching, I think the SR9 is a keeper, and even with the funny trigger I can already shoot it as accurately as my SigPro. (that's not saying much, but it IS a comparison)
And, as is customary, I let Osama weigh in on the capability of the refurbished weapon.

Thanks for the update.  Don't like the looks of that trigger.  Will have to wait to check one out.

On the Podcast MB was saying it has ALWAYS been a 2 piece trigger but before the middle piece was hidden inside.
Don't give Jay any grief about having his finger on the trigger as he mentions that he was demonstrating the reach.
Was your wife "limp wristing" The pistol ?
A friend of mine has a Millennium Pro, When he first got it you could not load mags without a tool, but as he used them they loosened up so now he does not need the tool any more.

Congrats jaybethel! Finally, your dancing with the SR9 again.  Glad its not a "paperweight anymore".

This weekend I was shooting with a few friends one of which had a SR9 and just got it back and I must say I am glad I traded my pre-recall fixed SR9 in on my G21C. The one piece trigger I loved is now gone and like the OP stated it is a bit akward and to far forward.

Although even when one handing my SR9 and running 17 rounds through it just for shits and giggles I never had one stovepipe.

I tried that...the dealer wouldn't take the SR9 until it had been retrofitted.
I'll shoot it for awhile and see- I'm going to see if I settle in with the trigger or not.

just got my gun back from ruger... the trigger is alot heaver... but alot shorter and crisper pull.  its not exactly a glock trigger, its a little wider and the secondary trigger doesnt act the same as a glock... its more horizontal than the glock trigger.  the mag release seems to be a bit easier to hit and doesnt stick like it did before. i plan on taking it to the range over the weekend to test how well it does under pressure.. i will report back after words
