First, I do realize that UnderArmor is headquartered in Baltimore, but hardly a community rallying point.
A mayor is typically not only the chief executive officer but also the chief ambassador for a city. So, why did this mayor, knowing she was going to be the center of international press coverage and attention, choose a hat with a corporate logo? Why not an Orioles hat? Or a Raven's hat? Something to show pride in Baltimore. She needs some new advisers. Or is there some message in this choice?

And for those who may think I'm nit-picking over what the mayor wore and that there were more important things that day than her hat, I contend that image is everything especially in this case. Trying to rally community support you would want to portray an image of Baltimore Strong not of corporate massa.
HISTORY LESSON: Go back and read about about the Kennedy-Nixon TV debate. First ever televised. Image was everything. And was it important? The entire history of the 60's and 70's could have taken a very different turn had that one debate, won by image not by rhetoric, gone the other way.
