To answer the OP's question, I would feel 100% comfortable under the following conditions:

1) The safety is not overly easy to move to the "off" position.
2) The pistol is carried in a pocket holster that fits well and covers the trigger
3) Nothing else is carried in that pocket.

Whenever my dress does not permit me to carry my SR9c, I carry an LC9s - frequently in a pocket holster.

Would you say the grip is almost too long with the LC9s for pocket carry? My friend has one and the trigger is amazing. I forgot to ask him if I could put it my pocket to test it out.

When in doubt DON'T.  If you are asked about shooting your balls off do you want to be stuck saying "Well, it SEEMED like a good idea".
