Not from 2008, but this is my wife's dream hog, ( mine too ) before she got sick and cannot hunt anymore.

It dwarfs my hog and it is a pure strain russian, notice the small belly, feral hogs have bellies, Russian boars have small waists like Mexican bulls.

Too embarassed to post my score. The part where you need to reload after 2 shots really threw me and cost me the 3rd deer.

I know it was a 2008 hunting thread and it has rolled on into 2009, but I figured I'd just post this here instead of starting a new thread.

My youngest and his friend both got their first turkeys today. They were about a mile from the house.
The photo doesn't do the birds justice as they were very nice looking and heavy.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Congratulate the younuns for me Pegleg!

Turkey hunting is something that never appealed to me, until the return of turkeys to the area.  Now I see them more and more, and I have had a couple of meals of the wild stuff.  I'm ready to enjoy the woods in the spring time some day.
