Fried jumbo shrimp, pork chop, and turkey chops, with sides of red beans and rice, and spicy cabbage, and a piece of sweet cornbread to top it off. I made sure my route home from visiting my mom today took me past the Soul Goode Food Truck that's always parked across the street from one of the big new GM plants. I finally stopped there for the first time, and it won't be the last. Last year, I thought my brother who works in that plant said Soul Goode was building a restaurant where the food truck (trailer) is parked, but there's still no new building. I sat in the car programming some XM radio stations for 10 minutes, since I didn't do it after getting a new battery, and my food was almost ready by then. They said 10-15 minutes, which was completely accurate.

I washed my meal down with Vernors Limited Edition Black Cherry Ginger Soda. Woody the Gnome approves of the new flavor but James Vernor, who died 95 years ago, may be rolling in his grave. Or after 156 years he might agree it was time to mix things up a little. Either way, it's good stuff, and I hope they do more limited edition flavors. Once while eating wild blueberries straight from the source, and drinking Vernors, I found out it was a really great combination. So a blueberry ginger ale, odd as it sounds, may taste just as good. By the way, Vernors ginger ale is 20 years older than Coca-Cola, and is America's oldest soft drink to the best of my knowledge. Vernors = Medicine in Michigan, and always has. The last time I was in the emergency room (16 hours?), one of the nurses told me they had Vernors and diet Vernors in the other room if I wanted any. Got a stomach ache? Drink a Vernors. Had surgery and can't go home until you drink something? Have a Vernors.

Now it's time for dessert, Hostess cupcakes. I have orange and chocolate flavors setting here, so I'll probably have both. After I eat another meal tonight, I'll have some dark chocolate covered walnuts. I think this is the first time I bought them. They have a lot of chocolate on them and taste good to me. They aren't nearly as sweet as milk chocolate covered cashews or pecans, but that can be a good thing.

P.S. The next time I go to Soul Goode I want to try the alligator bites. It's been a really long time since I had alligator, and that was in an etouffee or jambalaya. So I can't honestly say I know what gator tastes like.

Smoked sausage and vanilla wafers tonight.

Never. Not even behind your back, when no one else is listening, either. But Alex DeLarge and his gang of droogs have a question for you. Got milk? For the 'nilla wafers. I just put this together to use as an avatar and came back to apply it. It's quite a happy little coincidence that the only post I looked at to see how it looks has cookies to go with the milk. 8)

Well, I'm out of here again. I'm going  to eat 2 generic Excedrin, a muscle relaxer and a migraine pill. My head hurts so bad my ears are hearing ringing and buzzing, so I'll be drinking London Dry Gin and Diet Mountain Dew until I run out of gin. Unfortunately, against all medical advice, sometimes mixing alcohol and prescription drugs works a lot better than the drugs alone. Don't ask me why this cocktail specifically calls for London dry gin, as opposed to any other gin, but I can't argue with the result - gin, and Mountain Dew, that each taste better than in their original form. This Halloween's Limited Edition Mystery Flavor Mountain Dew, Voo Dew, works with gin too, if you can still find it. I saw a video with a purple Mountain Dew, the name of which I can't recall, that's what a recipe calls for instead of the regular flavor. Mountain Thunder or something equally silly, IIRC. I don't think Code Red and the other flavors work with gin, but I don't have a clue what any of them taste like. Squirt might taste okay with gin. If not, I think it would mix well with vodka. I should try that sometime soon, since I'm so tired of bourbon and could only drink so much rum before I had to try some other stuff.

I quit drinking milk so long ago, I can't recall when I was weaned off the teat of another animal. But not completely. Cereal without milk just doesn't taste right, and you don't need to be a conspiracy theorist to think they did it that way on purpose. Other than that, I never miss it, when I run out of milk.

I'm eating Smoky Mustard Pork Tenderloin with Dijonnaise, Caraway Cabbage, and Herb Roasted Potatoes. I finally had to get out of bed and microwave a meal. I could only stay in bed living on snacks and candy for just so long. I've had a bad back ache all weekend, and the less time I'm awake, the less time I'm aware of how bad the pain really is. Ideally, I would sleep peacefully until the day I wake up dead. ;)

I have some breaded mushrooms in the freezer and will probably microwave a handful to eat with hot ketchup. I can't be bothered with deep frying or baking them in the oven. Last week I had breaded cheese curds heated in the microwave. They aren't supposed to be cooked that way but I ended up with a plateful of melted cheese curds and that was good enough.

Cottage cheese and peaches.
