Nothing to eat so far today, but I have some leftover fried chicken in the fridge, and Frankenmuth chicken seasoning setting right here to put on it.

We had to run to Lowes for some storage tubs and I went through the drive thru at Cookout and got what they call a 'Doritos Walking Taco' and onion rings. It's basically taco supreme ingredients dumped into a bag of crushed Doritos. They forgot to put a fork in the bag so I had to eat it by turning it up and trying not to dump it all in my face.
I won't make that mistake again.

I had a Bavarian cream filled Paczki (pronounced puhnchkee) with chocolate frosting.But I scraped the frosting off,Too sweet.

Paczki Day is on February 17 this year, and they shouldn't even be in the grocery stores around here yet, but maybe they are. I'll find out whenever I get around to going. There used to be a place called Jablonski's Bakery that had all kinds of goodies including paczki, poppy seed rolls, and nut rolls year round. Now it's a cupcake shop. What a loss to the whole community. Like when Aldo's Italian bakery closed, there's no local alternative I know of. Aldo was born in Patrica, Italy, was married in Rome, Italy, and owned and operated Aldo's Italian Bakery here for over 50 years before he died. I don't know what happened to cause Jablonski's to close, but they used to supply paczki to one of the catholic churches for lent, and the most popular flavor was prune, my favorite. Try finding those in your average grocery store. Most of the time I'd rather have slices of poppy seed bread and butter warmed in the microwave than paczki. But If I got hold of some good prune paczki, I would eat them until I was sick.

I just finished off some Swiss Colony petit fours i got at Christmas, and they weren't very good. Before that I had Swiss & mushroom sausages.

Grilled fajita chicken for supper.  That's all.  Back on the diet.  Less than 1,000 calories today.  Tomorrow I may bump it up to 1,400 calories.

I was told years ago by a dietitian that calorie intake oscillation was a good practice. Low to mid intake with some higher intake days to avoid the body going into 'storage mode' from too little intake.
I think it comes down to overall calorie intake vs calorie usage.... I mean, that's simple logic.
Following that, where the calories come from, (protein vs carbs or empty calories [sugars] vs useful calories meats and proteins etc) is a biggie.


Today for lunch was air fried chicken strips with Olive Garden salad dressing as a dipping sauce.

Well, I ain't faring much better. As I type this I got biscuits in the oven and I just whipped up a batch of sausage gravy with venison sausage. I had to add bacon grease to have enough oil for the flour to form a roux. Wife grabbed link sausage out of the freezer instead of pan sausage, so I skinned 'em out and used it anyway.
