Some Cinemark cinemas are showing the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter's Halloween Wednesday and Thursday, but not the one I go to. It would be nice to see it before the new one comes out on the 18th and 19th.

Man, they just keep churnin' those Halloween movies out, don't they? I think the last one I saw was Rob Zombie's 2007 re-boot.
Looks like this new one is the third one using just "Halloween" as the title.

Seems the prop master needed a head to mold and Ol' Capn' Kirk's bust just happened to be available...

I think I remember from some horror film documentary that it was a mold of Kirk's death face from a particular episode.

I heard they went to a store to buy a mask and all the store had was Captain Kirk and they painted the mask white. It sounds like that was wrong.

Jumbo, I heard that also from a different interview with a special effects guy.

I guess it's a coin toss, and I haven't invested the time to dig deeper.  ;D
