Most places aren't named for a real thing that's there but Alabaster, MI  is named after a variety of gypsum used in drywall, mined here since 1837.

There's Mesick, and Pine Stump Junction, MI.

We also have Romulus and Remus.


We also have the Romulus and Remus statue here in Rome, GA. Supposedly came from Mussolini prior to WWII.

My brother-in-law was a minister in Earth, TX for about a year...  The nearest ATM was 20 miles away in Muleshoe (another name from the list).  They sold postcards of the Earth Police.

BTW, it's about 60 miles from Roswell, NM.

Here are a couple of towns in West Virginia I didn't see on the lists.

Frog Awnry - My grandfather was raised there

It's not a town, but I always found Pee Pee Creek in Ohio to be quite amusing, also.   ;D

We don't have the statue, just two towns named after the boys.
