Thanks for posting this question, TSB, and thanks to all the positive replies and info.
I've been meaning to ask basically the same question since I too have physical limitations as a result of a motorcycle accident.
There is a club / range about 45 miles from me and I was wondering if it would be "worth the drive" to even go since I would be somewhat limited in my range of participation. I can walk, but not fast, and squatting / kneeling is out (one knee only bends to about 20 degrees of motion).
Over the last few years, I have stuck to the same "standing still" types of shooting, like bullseye and pins / steel, that I did before.
From what you are all saying, it would still sound fun to try IDPA.
Maybe I'll try it out.
Thanks,

Go for it, it can't be any worse than not shooting! I have shot in IDPA matches before and miss it. My work schedule (7 days a week) doesn't allow for much at the moment. But as soon as I can I plan on getting back at it. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Thanks for all the positive feedback folks.  I will be attending as a spectactor tomorrow but I expect I wll definately give it a go.  It sounds as though it would be great fun and would improve my shooting skills as well as maybe improve my flexibility.  In spite of living in MA, the sport is pretty popular up here!  This match is pretty close to Boston, I'm sure all that gunfire will give the socialists fits!!!!    ;D

I can move, not too fast but fast enough!

Again, thanks!

TSB, take your gear and shoot for the fun of it!!!!!!  Make sure you tell them is is your first match and your limitations.  I am sure they will be happy to have you.  Also ask when they have a practice night so you can get in some practice matches.

Good Luck,

Richard
