MB,

You lost me there.

I put 'controversial' in scare quotes cause it was supposed to be sarcastic.  And the gun is COOL!  Been looking for a link to the Mfg on here but can't find it.

I was going for obscure post-modern ironism...maybe I need to go back to community college and take a course in Samuel Beckett, Woody Allen, Woody Harrelson and the American Experience...and yes, it was a cool little gun, and the DAMN BUFFALO went down like it it was hit with a, well, bolt gun in the head. The .454 is a great cartridge, I think...good for everything up to and including velociraptors and rampaging garbage trucks...of course, I don't condone the senseless slaughter of things that may or may not be animals, plants, friendly minerals, household appliances, bicycles, dolphins, aliens, panda cubs, wireless mobile devices, lingerie, PVC pipe, puppies, kittens and, of course, TaTonka, the great and a sacred American bison, which is available with cheese, tomatoes, onions and special sauce in Ted's Montana Grills nationwide...

I just ate a little while ago and I'm not hungry, but that still made me salivate like Pavlov's dog.  :P

I just used the locator...closest one to me is Broad St. in Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly love(as in, Cain and Able).
I wonder if Mayor Nutter eats TaTonka Burgers?

Not to bring up a 'controversial' subject but I was impressed with the performance of the .454.  The gun itself was really beautiful and looked to be well made and handy as heck!  Love the set trigger set up.

BUT what really got me was the way that animal dropped at 100 yards!  That round really hammered him.  Makes me feel like my Puma .454 lever gun is all the 'big game' gun I'll ever need.

What y'all think?  Grizzly, cape buff, etc.?
Haz,
Have you hunted with it yet? I love all the lever guns. Don't know alot about the .454 but it lays the hammer down!!

Moose, elk, mule deer, bear, anything out my way it will do the job on.

Thanks HazCat.  Rather look at Miss Chess Champ.  Even better is to have her with me while I am riding my horse.
