I looked up the property records for his address and it looks like the house is owned by a company that owns several other houses. If my friend's wife is right, and they knowingly let him live there with a pit bull, without very expensive renter's insurance on the dog, then they're liable as well. I woke up with my arm hurting this morning and got up several hours sooner than I planned on. It's a serious amount of physical pain, and that coupled with the fear of leaving my house is worth suing over, for sure.

Like I said, or implied, I'm against ambulance chasers and frivolous lawsuits, but you have major issues from multiple issues with this dog. If it were me, I would start looking for someone willing to take this on. If you want to feel noble and gallant about starting legal procedures, you can always frame it in your mind as saving the next victim.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

I'm more worried about my own hide than the next victim, but have thought about how much worse it could have been if the dog attacked a little kid instead of a grown man. It could literally kill them, and do it in practically no timel. Or maim them for life if they survived.

A couple of of my friends got a Boston Terrier last year. Within a minute or so of seeing me for the first time, he was in my lap, climbing higher, and licking my face. My other friend's German Shepherd and Yellow Lab love me too. They act like their master got home after a long absence when they see me. All dogs love me except for my neighbor's pit bull or whatever it is. When the director of Animal Control asked me what kind of dog it was, I told her I thought it was a pit bull but wasn't sure. I said it was one of those tough guy dogs, the ones some guys get to show how tough they are.

The picture when Thor was just a pup was 10 years ago. I think Sheba was a year old and still a puppy herself, but took care of him like he was her puppy. My little guy was named Tag. I was his 4th or 5th owner I guess. I didn't have him long enough before he died, but we got to know each other really well. I'm looking at his collar and it has a license from 2009 hanging on it. I still miss my little buddy after al these years. He's buried in the back yard and when I mow over him, I always say hi and tell him what a good boy he was. He was so quiet I had a turkey bell on his collar, like a little cow bell, and I still didn't know where he was half the time. I'd get up and step on him because I didn't hear him come over and lie down by my chair. Here are a couple of pics from one Christmas at my friend's house. Too bad my neighbor's dog isn't more like Tag. He just liked to eat, get petted, and chill out. And he never caused any kind of trouble. My neighbor's dog has a taste for blood. And white meat. And couldn't be more different from all the other dogs I've known.
