Thought and  prayers for you, your son, and your family. My 18 yo is in the National Guard but is also currently going to college on ROTC so he is currently non-deployable; he does have several friends deployed right now. I can relate to what you're going through.

Had a service today for a lady whose grandson just completed basics and is back in school waiting.  Grandpa has shed a lot of tears over the last few days, but when his grandson walked into the church in his dress greens today the tears flowed like I had never seen them, but this time their was a smile of pride (and a loooooooong hug) that only a grandpa can give.

To those that serve ... your commitment alone means more than you can ever imagine!
