New FN9 First Range Report. Happy Camper!
« on: December 06, 2008, 05:37:25 PM »
I would first like to thank all the DRTV members who gave my new FN9 favorable reviews, opinions, and experiences. I asked and you all delivered. It is much appreciated.

I didn't get a chance to go to the range until today, and 200 rds. of Winchester 115gr. Target/Range later, with 50 rds. of Remington Golden Sabers to top off, It was flawless! ;D

No FTF, FTE, no stiff or hesitant mag reloads, no hiccups, no "issues" whatsoever. All I did prior to firing was wipe off the excess packing and shipping grease, with a standard field strip. I am really excited that I picked a winner.

As another post from Ksail and the wonder 9's is up, I would really put my .02 cents in on the FN. The money saved compared to other brands can get more ammo. ;)

I noticed that at 10 yds. all my groups were dead on shot after shot, a "hair" to the right of bullseye. The gap at the rear sight is larger than my other pistols, but the rear sight can be adjusted, and I think I may give it a little love.
If I aimed left of bullseye, just left edge, they were wearing that red hole out.

Thanks again DRTV. I'm going to clean it, fondle it ::), and go again tomorrow with my M+P .40 just for a side by side.

The FNP-9 is a real sleeper alright.  I recommend them to anyone that asks my opinion and a few that don't.  I'll be interested to read how the shootout goes.  Congratulations on a fine addition to your collection.

Thanks for the updated info.
I've been thinkin' about a *choke****gulp* 9mm purchase myself because of ammo prices.

Hey TW- Glad to hear your are happy. Yeah I really like the FNP 9 I shot one at the little indoor range I go to by my house. I just wanted to do something in a metal frame. But with this post and all the joy I have with Glocks and the previous FNPs I have shot I am starting to think.
Did we win???
