No Tom I like them both, as I have said before, give me sights and a trigger and I'll shoot it, even if it's a bow and arrow. Although truth, I love my wheel guns the most.
The grips you see are Safariland round butt plastic grips that are some of my favorites and no longer available, and then I take a spring loaded punch and stipple the grip surface to my hand, and yes I do like it. I took those grips off that pistol and put them on a 2 1/2 model 19, S&W .357, and cut the grips off flush with the grip frame bottom, and they are like boot grips, and work really well, pictures to follow.
PhilW, those rifles are both Springfield M1A's, the wooden stock is an original that I used in U.S. Service rifle competition, and is my favorite rifle. The other is a Scout rifle, with a Troy industries modular chassi, and an aimpoint comp m2 2x with a 2 minute dot. As cool as it looked, it changed the weight bias so badly, that I put it back into the fiberglass stock it came with, and sold the
chassi system.
