Woman Shot After Man Drops Gun In Store
Man Says He Never Carried Pistol In Public Before
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville, Fla., woman waiting in line at a grocery store was shot when the man in front of her dropped a gun.
Seventy-year-old Flossie Mae Bell told police she was waiting to check out Friday afternoon when the man dropped a leather pouch and she felt a sudden pain in her leg. A store worker said he heard a loud pop.
Bell was treated at a local hospital.
Sixty-seven-year-old Woodrow Monlyn Jr. was arrested in connection with carrying a concealed firearm. He told police he had never carried the .25-caliber pistol in public before and didn't know he needed a permit.
