The problem with "hired guns" is that they are not necessarily motivated by the same value as their employers.

This applies to both the unofficial and official hired guns.

In the article, it is the corruption of the official hired guns that leads to the use of the unofficial hired guns.

As Tom said, the duty and responsibility lays with us to first police the official hired guns and if that is not possible through official channels, then by force, preferably without the assistance of unofficial hired guns.

Now, if all hired guns had the values of Richard Boone's character, Paladin, we would not have any problems.

I doubt hired guns like Blackwater ever will have the motivation of Paladin.

THE guy who was an armorer on the early westerns was Thell Reed. As a fastdraw guy he taught a lot of the Hollywood crowd. I found one single video of him on YouTube . Sorry it is from France. Done for the Russell Crowe movie the other year, 3:10 to Yuma. But if you fast forward to around 3:00 minutes you will pick up the interview with Thell Reed. Pretty cool ....

(pssst....Marshal how about a Cowboys profile of Thell?)

Just across the border an all out war is being fought. FOUR THOUSAND DEAD JUST THIS YEAR ! But the MSM hardly covers it. Here is one story from the summer ...

Good article, thank goodness our government is imprisoning border guards Ramos and Compean for for the mortal sin of apprehending a Mexican drug smuggler.

That's cause most of the white punks could f@#k-up a rock fight.

A rock fight. That sounds like a battle of the bands.  ;D

We do have a gang problem right now, just not nearly as bad.

MS-13' is one of nation's most dangerous gangs
In-depth look its members, enemies and its threat to our national security

Some of the most notorious and dangerous criminals in the United States are part of one gang.  It's not the Bloods, it's not the Crips, but a gang called MS-13.  'Live and Direct' takes MSNBC into the streets to investgate how the gang is terrorizing neighborhoods and treating their friends and enemies with brutal, bloody force.

You know? I don't see the problem.

Find 'em.. kill 'em... and that will be the beginning of the end to the skanky rat and vermin infestation.
Better yet.. give me the gun.. I can shoot pretty straight when it comes to between the eyes.

Are you sure it's the eyes that you would shoot between?   :o

www.thellreed.com

Ray Chapman, Jack Weaver, Thell Reed, Jeff Cooper and Eldon Carle.

Off subject, but we know Bill Jordan could react, draw and hit in .27 seconds at 7 yards, supposedly Thell did it in .13 with a Single action Army Colt.

By the way I still have that rig that Ray Chapman is wearing, save up my hard earned dollars at the time, thought I was tacticool, took it to my 1st Ipsc match, Pre-USPSA,  and was politely told, " nice rig, you know you can't wear that in competition? " so much for getting all your info from gun magazines >:(  Still have it, anybody want one? just the belt, I still love the chapman high ride holster. The one in the picture is a low ride.
