The Only Thing We Have to Fear is . . . Obama.
« on: January 18, 2009, 08:44:24 AM »
Here is a very nice read:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/016/017vzepy.asp

Quote
Barack Obama is the apostle of hope. But he also arouses the flipside of hope--fear. And while the fear he stirs may turn out to be unfounded, it's not irrational. People don't know who Obama really is or where his ideological center of gravity rests, to the extent it rests anywhere. He was a liberal in the Senate and the campaign, a centrist in the transition, and who knows what he'll be as president.....
Everything I needed to learn in life I learned from Country Music.

"We'll soon discover if any of these fears has merit. Obama made a series of clever moves during the transition, reaching out to conservatives and picking evangelical pastor Rick Warren to give the invocation at the inauguration. But these were cost-free, ephemeral, and didn't reveal much. What Obama does as president will tell us all we need to know."

And then he caved in and invited Alcoholic, gay Gene Robinson, (the guy who's election to bishop has split the Episcopal church )
to speak.
Some say God bless America. I ask, why ? and add God HELP America.  :(

I didn't vote for the guy and I don't see eye to eye with him on a lot of issues, but I hope that he does a good job and doesn't screw things up too bad. I served in the military during the Bubba years, I hated him, his ideas and most of the stuff that he did. But he was my president then and it infurriated me when people would say "Not my President" about Bush.

I am not totally sure what he will do, but I think he knows he can't totally alienate the right wing any more than he can the left. he knows what moving one way or the other will get him in four years. 3% less votes and different housing.

I do like what Ann Coulter (Yes a right wing firebrand) said on the radio the other day, she calls him B. Hussein Obama, "Because the liberals go berzerk when I do."

I like her, I've read a couple of her books. She does not hesitate to call a lying idiot a lying idiot. We need more of that, Washington contains to many educated lawyers spouting weasel words. We don't need educated people, we need smart people, we don't need lawyers we need people who respect the law.

No one likes lawyers, both sides think that they are bad, the funny part? We elected two of them. We need smarter people voting too. ;)

I think that Bush should have put Ann and HR Clinton on the Supreme Court. It would have been tough, but think of how much fun it would have been to watch Ann Coulter and Hillary Clinton fight with each other. Sure would have made the country more interested in what the SCOTUS does.

Tom,
WWF stands for World Wildlife Fond( the one with the panda in their logo). They successfuly sued the "wrestlers" for the copywright violation few years ago so, the clowns, you are refering to, are under the WWE ( World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.) banner now.

Tuesday will be the beginning of one of the tough times.  For me it is respecting the President, because the President is the leader of the Nation; It will be respecting the President because he was elected by the people just the way the Founding Fathers set it up; It will be respecting the system that allows me to voice my oppinion, opposition and disgust; It will be working with the system to retain our Rights, not just Second Amendment Rights, but many Constitutional Rights that many legislators have already stated they will strip from those of us that remember the history of our Nation; and hopefully it will be eating crow rather than saying "I told you so" as the Obama Change Machine rolls through our Nation.

For the last eight years I listened to many bad mouth the President, and I responded strongly when it became disrespectful.  Not because I always agreed with President Bush, but because he is the leader of our Nation and Commander In Chief.  I will do my best to offer the same respect over the next four years until he does something to disgrace the office (hopefully he doesn't, but I fear it could happen).
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

That's why I was so annoyed by some of the rhetoric during the campaign.

Tell me why someone's policy won't work or why yours is better for the country, both now and in the future. Don't tell me how much the other guy's socks stink. One type of statement is an intelligent argument, the other is barely worthy of a 1st grader.

It was bad enough that Prez Bush spent like a liberal dem, but soon to be Prez Hussein Obama will make Prez Bush look like a fiscal conservative. Any Prez's policy to make government bigger is bad and leads to more government control over your life which of course leads to less freedom.
