USAToday 2A poll - VOTE HERE! (Nov.2007)
« on: January 25, 2009, 10:59:21 PM »
Edit: After being informed this is from 2007, I modified the link at the bottom, I removed the www. and the .htm from the link. I apologize for any confusion.  bryand71

Got this in an email and just had to pass it along. I figured we could help send them a message.

Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a
few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro gun
folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this
month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the
Supreme Court accepting the District of Columbia case against the right
for individuals to bear arms.

First - vote on this one.
Second - launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.
Vote in the USA Today poll - click on the link below.

The Question is:

Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?

98% yes with 811,877 votes,  It looks like a 2007 poll question though.
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. - George Washington

You do realize that the question is misstated.

It should read:

Does the Second Amendment protect the individuals right to keep & bear arms?

The RKBA as well as the rights in the 1st amendment are preexisting, inalienable rights.  The BOR servers to enumerated them and to declare that the government will not infringe upon them.

yep  looks like an old one

also one thing that we need to be careful is hot linking on sites like this one ( Phil Runs off and gets tin foil hat)

serisuly  though

what happens is if you just past a link on here and when it gets clicked on to open the site ( Hot Linking)  the web host of that site is able ( if they know how) to see where they are getting refferals to a particular site.

so keep that in mind when adding links. especialy when it is something that can be seen as Anti fire arm related as the can start tracking back to where all the traffic is coming from.

best thing to do it brake up the link so people then copy and past the link and then view it.
ie http://www.apple.com  would be <http://www.apple.com>  or ht tp://www.apple.com  then just remove the space between the HT TP  if you know what I mean

for instance with on line polls the would think the numbers are swayed our way caus there were getting all the virewers from pro gun related sites so they would then say the polls were in accurate.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Yep, I got suckered in without checking.

The poll appears to be two years old.   I can find no reference to it on USA's web page.

Best thing when posting links to polls is to post a link to the home page with instructions on how to find the poll, rather than a link directly to the pol itself.

Sorry everyone, I guess I need to do a check on this type of thing in the future before I go off half-cocked (pun intended). I appreciate the feedback. I will remove the link to avoid any possible problems. It also points out one of the problems with the Net, stuff stays around forever!   ::)
