Go to the desert states, the rest of the country either gets to cold or to humid. If I ever leave NH I'm heading for NM, Ariz, or Texas. However, NH and Vermont are more gun friendly than any other states except Alaska.

I've lived in AZ for a short time before. Phoenix area - it was pretty miserable, but we're thinking about some of the more moderate climates like Prescott. My parents had a mobile home at Lake Havasu when I was growing up. It's pretty hot their too and I guessed it's changed a lot now that it's kind of a Spring Break destination. We sure had a lot of freedom there back in the 70's and 80's. We could pretty much just drive anywhere off of the highway and shoot, or even just go somewhere where it's quiet. Utah is a possibility too.

I'm spoiled by the weather and the kids are by Disneyland. We need to just go look at some other places before they wall us in.

Check out Rawles' survivalblog.com site, he often has articles and posts about "other" places to live, especially consideration of all factors, from a survival perspective. Gun rights is one factor, independent sustainability is a huge one, water, of course, is paramount, right up there with opsec (  ;D ).

Problem with places that are otherwise great for survival and free living is that their job markets suck.  :(

That's why - for the time being - I am enduring 30 below winters in eastern ND. Will move elsewhere upon retirement, they tax retirement income here!  >:(

Why do you think I moved to Western Montana? Its not as cold as MI, we have less snow on average than MI and the humidity? Forget about it! Things are getting a bit tight with the job market but my wife started a new job last week and I am waiting to hear from the same place. When I worked at the pellet mill here I made $9 and hour and took home only $80 less than when I was in MI making $14.95 an hour just from the lower taxes. Not to mention that the cost of living is lower, again due to the lack of a sales tax and other socialist BS taxes, fees and regulations. You couldn't pry me out of here with a crowbar.

I sure like the idea of living in a place where they elect someone like Sheriff Joe Arpaio!

They cant get rid of the 1st until they get rid of the 2nd
