I had some initial problems with the one I had, mostly light primer hits, but it was #2 off the line after all...yeah yeah, I'll catch crap on the other forums for not calling jihad on Para...instead, I sent it back to Para...they replaced a few pieces of the fire control system (firing pin and sear) and now it's fine.

I'm going to keep it because it is one of the most accurate 1911s that has floated through here in a while, and I'm thinking of turning it into my dedicated Wild Bunch 1911 for End of Trail this June. I was shooting Winchester ball, and it was like running a stapler. Para told me it's going to be mid-summer before they fill the pipeline on the Experts, with the move to Charlotte and all and the very high demand for the gun (hard to argue with that price point).

I have a SA 1911 mil spec and i love it more than any other gun i own. Out of the box it shot great and no break in period, thats what counts to me.  I shot 210 rounds in one outing, my gun rocks. ;D

I wanted one of these but my ffl called 12 wholesalers today and none have it in stock. Even when he called Para Customer Service they were worthless in telling him where he could order one. So looks like the money goes to another company that wants to sell their product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be patient, Para is moving their operation to Charlotte.  May take a little time....

I've had mine for about 3 weeks. I paid $489 + tax ( a little over $519). I got the first my local gun shop
got in. They had for a few weeks before I bought it. IMO, the gun looks really nice. The only things I'm
planning to change is the mainspring housing (it's plastic) and the grips.
I'm not much on plastic on guns.
Yes, it is a basic gun. I ,for one, am glad that Para has finally got back to a basic model, one that many
beginners and older shooters can use and afford.
I own 3-4 other Paras.
