NRA Offers Upgrades
« on: February 05, 2009, 06:44:11 PM »
I received a flyer in the mail the other day. The NRA is offering an upgrade from Life to Endowment for $200 - $800 off their normal rate. You get a commemorative Bowie knife and wall hanger if you take advantage of this offer.

Also, you can buy Life memberships for your family members for only $300.

Anyone else see these?

Yep ... I got it quite a while back, thought about it, but didn't do it.  I make the mistake, or save NRA money by just donating to different parts of the organization.  I got another mailing the other day, that I haven't opened yet, that says March 31 is the deadline to act.  I assume it is an extension of the earlier mailing.

I received one offering an upgrade from being a year-to-year member to Life for $500.  If/when I can scrape together the moolah before the deadline, I plan to make the jump to Life.

I think I've upgraded as far as possible already. No bowie knife for me but I saved big bucks over the regular price of Patron, Endowment, and Benefactor. Oh yeah. I got a little pocket knife that was so sharp I shaved my beard and mustache off with it.

I got a life membership for Christmas from my father. He got one of those offers last year and since he was a life member already, he passed it on to me. I think I will do the same for my son.

I joined as a five year member as a Christmas present to myself.  Still waiting on a duffel bag and knife.  Would be nice to have that bag for going to the range instead of my wife's old backpack.

I recently joined the NRA using their free military memberships and when I heard of the $300 life memberships I jumped on it.  I look forward to making all my family members life members as funds become available.
