DesertMarine, it doesn't work that way for me.  I use a green fiber and it is crisp and clear (2 different guns 2 different dot sizes) and I can still use the top of the fromt sight for a good sight picture for longer shots.

Seems like there is as much personal preference in this as in "best" caliber or "best" pistol.
