How come the law in Mass will not allow you to buy pistols from those other companies?

MA never dropped the AW Ban from 2004 like the rest of the country.  With the exception of CA, we have a more restricted list of approved firearms.  Has to do with trigger pull, loaded chamber indicators, magazine capacity and more.....it's about money!!!

S&W is the largest gun maker in the country and not even all of their guns that are made in MA, can be sold in MA.

Don't move here, under any circumstances, ever!!!!!!

As I mentioned on the podcast this AM, I'm de-evolving the Para GI Expert I plan to shoot int he End of Trail Wild Bunch match in New Mexico in June. Wild Bunch shooting has 2 classes, Traditional and Modern, and the GI Expert falls easily inot the Modern category, which allows bells and whistles. I thought it'd be cool. however, to make the GI Expert over into a WW1/WW2 version.

That means a spur hammer, appropriate grip safety, nubby safety, arched mainspring housing with lanyard ring, short steel trigger and diamond pattern walnut grips (could have gone plastic, but though the retro wood was nicer). All the parts are available from Sarco for kibbles and bits. I'm keeping the Para fixed sights, but I'll probably black out the white dots.

I'm also replacing the Para recoil spring plug with one of the new mil-specs from Cylinder & Slide. Essentially, Bill Laughridge reinvented the wheel. Old recoil spring plugs had a flange on the front so the recoil spring could be wound onto the plug...preventing the dread "plug launch" (I have dents in the ceiling fo the gun room). The GI Expert already has the plain old GI recoil spring set-up...no recoil guide rod, no buffers, nothing that JB didn't want in the system.

Here's the reply I just received from Para about the lack of a p14.45LDA in the current range:

Overload...

I think that the guns listed as "Special Editions" are all guns that were available last year.  I think this may be a bit of marketing on PARA's part during their move to Charlotte.  Last year, they had a lot more gun models listed as available then some were relegated to the Sp Ed list late in the year.

The P14.45 is an old designation for a Para pistol.  They still offer a 14+1 gun, it just has a different model number.

Just a guess, maybe that's why their rep had no listing of the P14...

Since we were talking mags elsewhere, I got an email last week saying my mags were sent. Any day now.
Guess the backorder wasn't so bad afterall.

Remember, you only have until 4/30 to get the discounted mags.

My son had a Para Nite Hawg. The slide catch kept backing out when he shot it. He paid almost $1100 for it and this did not make him a fan. Must have been a Friday afternoon gun. Sold it and bought a Glock 30 SF. Happy with that.

I bought a P10.45, years before they started calling it the warthog. I still haven't had a problem with it. I'm so confident that it's the only gun I keep loaded and ready for action.
