I thought I had hit this subject a long time ago myself.  Evidently not.

Central Missouri here.  Born in KC and got away from there as soon as I could enlist.

Now on my own piece of land and am damned glad I got it when I did.

BTW I too have my own shooting range.  And deer.  And Turkeys.  And quail.  And rabbits.  And squirrels.

Well you get the idea.

Welcome aboard, RVN.

Sounds like you have a  nice set up there with the range and great hunting opportunities.

So, how are the guest facilities?   ;D ;D ;D

In the heart of Civil War country. 10 mins from Bull Run an hour to Gettysburg and Sharpsburg, two hours to Richmond.

Must be a transplanted Yankee.
Otherwise you would have called them "The war of Northern Aggression" and Manassas.  ;D
Welcome, and just for the record, I call them , the Civil war, and Bull Run.  ;D

Yes, a transplant. I would have said Antietam instead of Sharpsburg but I couldn't remember how to spell it. Born in S.Dakota moved here 28 years ago after a few stops along the way. I enjoy visiting the battlefields. Have another trip to Gettysburg scheduled in the spring with some visiting relatives.

Welcome DGF, glad to have you.

We're hoping to get to Philadelphia to visit my wife's elderly uncle and aunt sometime later this year and I hope to allot enough time to visit Gettysburg and several other stops (including a war cemetery in Manassas where the wife has an ancestor buried) on the way back to Ga.

A friend of mine who has been to several of the battlefields says Gettysburg is the nicest. also it is most like it was then.
Other than the monuments he said it was like a big time capsule, the Govt even pays the local farmers to grow the same crops.

Just wondering where ya all call home.  Your State that is.  Tell us why you like where you live, and why you don't.  Some folks don't have it mentioned on there profile.  Just curious.  You don't have to tell us if it's invading you're privacy.

I'll start...

I'm from Northern Ohio, about 40 minutes south of Lake Erie.  Just about due south of Sandusky, Ohio.  I love summer in Ohio except for the humidity.  I enjoy riding my motorcycle north, south, east, and west.  There's always an interesting destination to roll to.  Winters are well, unpleasant.  Arctic winds pound the north coast here, and while I'm not directly in the snow belt, we get enough!  Winters seem to be getting more painful for me as every year passes.  Since our kids are grown and gone from the nest; we are considering a warmer climate to relocate to.  Gun friendly climate ofcourse!

I'm new here, from central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; just south of Harrisonburg.

Stay safe!
