I won't hold that against you, though some of the Texascans might.  I was born there too.  Wasn't raised there. moved away when I was a year old.

No true Okie ever cared what a Texican thought  ;D.

Oklahoma here, born and bred.

No true Okie ever cared what a Texican thought  ;D.

Just keep you hands were I can see 'em, Okie. ;)  Weird, in Texas Okie is a derogatory term, didn't think they called themselves that.  You and you tornadoes just keep to yourselves. ;D

Welcome aboard, glad to have you here, me and the other Texans reserve the right to make fun of your Okieness. :)

About 25-years ago I got a job offer that moved me from California to Miami, Florida just before the company was sold and the job eliminated.  Then I found a California gal living in Tampa/Saint Petersburg and promptly married her.  Been mostly here ever since.  Mostly.  We sailed a couple of different boats around the Caribbean for a few years, and we took a year off to teach English to minds of mush in Thailand and Malaysia.  While I was over there I slithered down into Vietnam to see how much it's changed since my first visit some 40-years ago (and to straighten out some memories).  It has, but it's all good.  Most of the population there now is under 40 and they have no memory of the war and nothing but good to say about the Americans.  I kinda like Florida because the year-'round temperatures are mostly agreeable and the gun laws aren't too onorous.  I can hunt pig whenever I need to and go to one of several gun ranges when I just need to shoot.

Michigander here. I live in the south central part. Not too far from where Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana all come together. I like the "country feel" and the cheap cost of living here. I hate the fact Hillsdale county has the second highest unemployment rate in the state, and home values have dropped by 30%. I have a great public range about 8 miles from my house I frequent.

Boca Raton, Fl, raised close to Houston Texas. Florida is nice and it is a carry state. Problem is, here in S Fl they built on every acre of land or it is federal land.  >:( They finally built over the last possible place to go plinking near here. I like ranges, but I love plinking and saving us all from the dreaded pest animals (NO, not liberals! Rats, possums, nutria, snakes, the dreaded and feared empty .22 box...) Anyone know a place close to Pompano/Boca Raton to plink I'll bring the brick of .22s!
Luckily (?) the everglades is overflowing with pythons released by idiots (animal loving idiots, I'm sure). Soon they will HAVE to let us shoot the darn things before they eat more children (a kid was just killed by his idiot dad's python- not really funny) and what is left of the dogs and cats.  (I guess having released pythons right by the road to eat released- read dumped- cats and dogs is almost a self-cleaning toilet... If only they would eat the dumpERS.)
Frosty, you might want to check the date of the Obama crash... It aint his babe! On the bright side the defeat of the Rep idea of putting your Social Security into the stock market means at least you won't starve. See, I'm trying to let you see the bright side. If those darn dems hadn't stopped THAT your life wouldn't even be worth living. You might want to change to a party that doesn't hate the social security and medicaid that you are going to need since the Republican ideal of total deregulation- unseen since, you guessed it, the LAST huge finacial collapse- has allowed greedy pigs to steal your retirement. Feel better? I only want to help!  ;D  Maybe if we allow the rich little piggies to keep that big old tax cut they can enjoy your money more, you think? Hmm, seems being a Dem is in your best interest, doesn't it? Maybe stopping that tax cut and giving a cost of living adjustment to social security would help, uh, YOU. Maybe you could retire and NOT starve to death! Come to the dark side, we have cookies AND the social programs that would make YOUR life better. Sorry, but the richest 1% WILL have to pay the share they paid before Reagan, you remember- when we had a middle class. Hmm, medicaid... not dying or going bankrupt (number one cause, you got it, medical costs!) if you get cancer... Cookies, hmmm... Get that cola back on s.s., maybe afford donuts, mmm... Donuts...
Oops, sorry.  I drooled on the keyboard there for a moment.
Thats my neck of the woods, yes you are right about the snakes, and yes there are 3 big ranges near you, and Im surprised you had to ask about -places to shoot, Markham Park , Shooters Emporium  for 2 And I thought I ranted , WOW for being the big Jackass of the day. Way to go, you seem to have some education . How about showing some decorum.

Waterford Ohio, and I love it here. Rural farm country and no big cities.

I'm in southwest Missouri. Originally from Texas, arrived in MO 12 years ago by way of Maryland. (spent 10 miserable years in Maryland). I am also a new member, very happy to be here.

Welcome to the site rjgraves. I think you'll like it here. That onrecess guy isn't around here anymore. He was an IDIOT. You wouldn't believe how he talked to people on the site.
