Is there a season or is it open year round?
Kill 'em where you can when you can. Monster of a problem on ranches and for the local wildlife, they kill and eat every thing. They travel in destructive packs of 20 to 30. I've had 30 pigs walk under my blind. That's when you get to have fun with a Mini 14

. They drive out local game and critters and up root every thing, plants, fences, and kill live stock. Every time I go out at the family's land I carry my Mini in case I see a pig or feral dogs. The littlest pigs are the best eating

, no bacon though out of wild pigs.
Kill 'em all, seriously. They're exotic animals not native to America and they're messing up our ecosystem. You can kill them in Texas year round where ever, take those ARs and Mini out with a friend and get you a whole herd.
And I didn't see anyone mention it, but we're talking about FERAL HOGS, not Javalina or any other native pig.
