I watch it all live and tape for future reference, and my son-in-law.  Better to watch repeats of my "Weds nite shootin' shows" than most of the mainstream junk out there. With a root beer and popcorn, of course.

Marshall,
After 33392 times of seeing the Lead Sled Commercial it does get a bit boreing. I do watch new commercials if I catch them as I am fast forwarding. .....................

I second that.  I can only watch a commerical so many times before I hit the fast forward.  But hey, from a marketing standpoint that means I've absorbed it....right?

Now, want a good show spot, ready to lose some advertisers???  How about running a spot like "Consumer's Reports" on gun related items....Like reloading equipment, gun vises, etc.  I had the first Lead Sled...I should've done my homework the front rest and elevation control was pure crap...the next model with better adjustment is OK...and it adjusts for length too.  Two cents you didn't need.

I also buzz through the commercials because I have seen them all a million times. Sometimes, there is a new commercial and I might stop and watch it, but most are them same every week.

I watch some commercials and skip others.  I always watch the spots by Midway as Larry P presents new information each time.  Other advertisers should follow suit!

I also agree with what Mark said.

Not enough choices, I watch live later (Second showing) and go back on the DVR to see the stuff I want to rewatch.  I have to FF the commercials for Lavitra, my son wants to know what they are talking about, he's 4 and not ready for the "Talk".
If it goes bang, I want to shoot it.

"How do you watch a gun or hunting show on TV?"

Usually with a soda and a snack. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

I love my DVR and use it a bunch. Everything (just about) is DVR'ed. Sometimes I am able to catch the show live, and when I do, I tend to find something to do and then rewind to the beginning so that I can have the time built up to skip through the ads.

I don't shoot muzzle loaders so I don't care about Shockey's powder.
I don't shoot many rifles so Cladwell's LeadSled, while interesting, does nothing for me.
I do like the Crimson Trace lasers, but I can't afford them right now, and the grip styles don't work for me (left handed).
I know Sig makes a fine handgun and I will have one someday (I would have bought one without the advert).

The one thing I do like about the shooting shows (other than the show itself) is that I don't get bombarded by ads for tampons or Summers Eve.

Outdoor Channel really screwed up the gun shows this season.  I use to watch them live because they were on earlier and now with them being on during prime time this really stinks.  MHO.

I don't get any gun shows with my cable package. Although I would watch online (including ads) if available. Ironically, if I did watch on TV I would watch on Tivo and skip the ads, however when watching online that is usually not possible or practical.

I'm in class Wednesday nights, so I have no choice but to DVR the whole night.
