Their preview story sounds less about gun violence and more about gangs.

Bingo! We have a winner! You would have gotten the play at home version if you'd included Mexican druglords (but not un-documented workers), survivalists and neo-nazis, but still not bad.

I saw a preview this morning.  They gave some kid a simunition gun, and stuck it in his pants "mexican carry".  When the "bad guy" ran into the classroom blazing away, the kid couldn't even draw the gun.  Not sure what message they were trying to send, but the scenario was definitely stacked to fail.  Doesn't look very hopeful that the show will be balanced.

Rastus, no offense intended, but I believe this way of thinking is the primary factor contributing to the vast ammo shortage we are presently experiencing throughout the United States.

I would like to point out that many of us that buy this way are just trying to meet our needs (cover what we need for our shooting addiction).  It is true that I will buy all I can (afford) when I find it as opposed to how I used to purchase throughout the year.  The difference is by "hoarding" I am still behind on my needs to get me even into July.  If I could get reloading supplies I wouldn't worry so much, but bullets are as tough to find as loaded ammo, and primers are waaaaaaaaay worse.

Fair enough m58 and, for the record, I have no issue whatsoever with those buying large amounts of ammo because they enjoy shooting and are using the ammo they are purchasing.  Obviously we on this board are an exception to the norm as we are enthusiasts who like to shoot more than average, even though it is becoming increasingly cost prohibitive to do so.  My issue is with those who are simply hoarding due to panic and fear of the future or perhaps with the belief that they will be able to sell their stock later on at a profit.  Those individuals will most likely have stored amounts of ammo far exceeding what they will ever shoot or plan to shoot in the future. 

I believe we are all creating the ammo crisis we now find ourselves in and should start thinking a bit more rationally to scale down the panic.  Just my opinion FWIW.

Ugh!  What a surprise.  The cops put the students in a rediculusly biased situation. 

1. cop already had his gun drawn (why are they using a trained cop for this again??)
2. cop knew a student had a gun, and even where the student would be sitting (painfully obvious in second attempt).
3. used young kids to shoot against (most likely to panic)
4. dressed kids in rediculously oversized shirts to make sure they couldnt get the gun out.
5. trained kid how gun works, not self defense with it
6. you really think the average nut that would do something like that is smart enough to go for head shots?  NOT!  Why you hear about 15 minute shoot outs, 3 people get wounded, nobody but the nut gets killed.

Plain and simple.  FULLY prepared cop vs unprepared kid intentionally handicaped with fat alberts sweat shirt (why not put glue in the kids holster too?!?).  No S$@# the cop comes out on top every time.

And big surprise Martha Stewart isnt a "quick draw"?? 

The bias here makes me sick to my stomach!  Ugh, I hate our media!

Diane Sawyer made a claim in the intro that this wouldn't be about people's right to own a gun, but the sway was on full tilt with segments about "gun show loopholes" and kids with guns. I'm with Badger on the campus drill too. These kids were really pushed to not succeed at defending themselves. Another way they mislead them was to put all the "students" in white shirts, while the attacker was in blue. Then they added a second attacker who was sitting a few seats down that was also in white. Granted, there could be a real world scenario where a person wearing the same uniform as us could be the aggressor and we should be prepared for that. The Bethleham, PA cops seemed pretty anti-gun when it came to civilians also.

It was spin garbage. The only valuable thing that I got from the show was that training is invaluable. I really worry about what non-gunny people get from shows like this. Again, take a first-time shooter to the range. It helps all of us.
