Given that Archie was in "WW 2.....The Big One"........you would think that he should have noticed that the 1911 wasn't cocked, as he would have carried one himself.  Arch should have grabbed the gun away from the hood. 

Now was there one in the chamber or would he have had to rack the slide first?
