Ok...early in the week a 4 foot tall gobbler, yesterday two smaller gobblers, and today a hen all out on the same 100 yard stretch of road heading to work at 6:15 am. I think I found a spot!
I got the blues as my companion.

Yea Jay,

I drove by a rafter (herd/flock) of probably 40-50 hens and 2-3 toms a few weeks ago on the back road to work.  Seems the only other time I see 'em is when I've got a golf club in my hand.

I thought of taking the old four door sedan off-road there for a moment...... ;D

Yes, it does.........

I used to do stuff like that because I knew it pissed my teachers off in high school.

Herd of ducks.....flock of cows.......and so on.

I've got to admit - I'm not so sure I would consider getting a turkey where I live "hunting".  They're all over the place, and often walk  through my yard and scare the bejezus out of my indoor cats.  Can hardly pass a field here where you can't see 'em at least once a day.

Good and bad, I guess.  :-\
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Took 20 years for them to populate around my specific area. State DNR released some back in the 80's and they have just begun to start showing themselves. My dad has lived here for 63 years and last year was the first time he'd ever saw one.

'Hunting' contrary to popular (and televised) belief is NOT about 'the chase'. It is about putting meat on the table and keeping the herd healthy.  PERIOD!
