After my experience with their SR9 (loved the gun but they screwed up the trigger on the recall, IMHO) I will steer clear of any new models/versions.  I noticed on their teaser page that there were links to the recall status for their last two new introductions.  I wish them better luck with this one.

I would get a Ruger 1911, but only if it had a metal frame. I'm afraid the desire to be different would cause them to do something silly, like come out with a poly framed 1911. I would be more interested in a .45ACP version of the SR9, or a concealed carry version (compact) of the SR9.

I would if I needed another 1911 but I don't. The Ruger 345 is a nice DA 45 that came out before the SR9 and it has a hammer. I like it, but I don't need another SA45.

What does "NEED" have to do with it? You can NEVER have too many 1911's.

Whatever it does turn out to be, I hope it is prettier than the LCR.

The LCR is so ugly, that it is pretty. Are they in stores already?

Personally I think think the LCR is the way to go, 'course I'm a real (wheel) gun kinda guy. ;)

I would like to see impovements in wheel guns.  Better ejection.  I flip out cylander for SA etc.

What ever it is, I hope that it literally makes Barack H. Obama and all those other Chicago Loons crap their pants.

Heck yah! Always looking for another reason to buy a 1911. Afraid they may mess with the original a bit too much for my taste though. I like a steel frame, arched mainspring housing, and the proportions of the original. Rugers other centerfire offerings have been a bit bulky and off balance for me. I will keep the cc ready!

I don't know peg. Discovery Channel had a show called Future Weapons or something like that. I remember seeing one that was an electronically detonated caseless cartridge piece with multiple barrels. It was designed as an AA weapon to shoot a zillion rounds a minute, but they did have a handgun proto-type. It doesn't need to be all buck rogers, but more ammo, higher power, greater cocealabilty, less recoil (pick 2), would seem to be doable.
