Is this an AR Bolt?

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a381/yekimak/RugerBolt1.jpg
In my limited knowledge, I don't quite think it's a traditional AR bolt, but don't have one handy to compare it to.  If this is real, and not faked or disinformation I would bet the new product is a semiauto rifle of some kind.  Years ago they promoted the XGI which was similar to the M-14/M1A, but apparently there were problems with it and few ever made it to the public.  Ruger auctioned one off recently and I think it went for thousands of $$$$.

I forgot who it was I talked to a couple years back and they claimed to have been at Ruger and saw many XGI receivers that Ruger still had and supposedly Ruger was working on a fix for it.

There is speculation on somewhere on AR forum and more here:

What ever it is I think Michael Bane should give one away on DRTV for putting us through this.

+1 on that!

I think Ruger did something really radical..

Like a M-30 carbine sized mini-14 but chambered for the .357.

(ok.  maybe that's a little too out there)

But it would be COOL.  They used to make a nice little 44 carbine called the deer slayer.

Bolt CARRIER, but it looks like (at that stage of machining) it will be set up for a gas piston instead of gas impingement.

I don't think I'll buy any new design from Ruger.

Speaking of new from Ruger, Look at the picture of the LCR at the top of this page. Why does it have a loading gate like a SA ?
I thought it had a swing out cylinder.  ???

Correct

and it was invented here in Australia  :)
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them
